DataON Storage designed the MX3340-S2 recipe based upon recent Microsoft lab testing. The Storage Spaces team achieved high-performance IOPS results of up to 1.45 million IOPS with a sustained throughput of over 12Gb/s featuring all STEC SAS SSD storage. Just as in this test lab configuration, the MX3340-S2 consists of three clustered server nodes all directly connected to a single 24-bay DLS-1640S external flash storage solution. An MX3340-S2 pure flash Storage Spaces solution with 9.6TB of SAS SSD comes with a list price of just under $100,000.
The MX3280-S2 Storage Spaces design features a dual node HA configuration with a shared external DLS-1660H SAS attached storage shelf. The Certified Storage Spaces DLS-1660H includes a scalable 60-bay JBOD enclosure with enough high-capacity space for up to 240TB to deliver a resilient storage cluster. The MX3280-S2 Storage Spaces solution with 180TB can be configured starting around $50,000.
The MX2260-S design recipe for Storage Spaces provides a robust and high performing all HDD starting point for a scalable Storage Spaces resilient solution. This configuration starts with a single server node connected to a DLS-1600H SAS storage shelf utilizing top performing 15K RPM hard drives. For future expansion to a clustered HA solution simply add a second server node. The MX2260-S Storage Spaces solution starts around $20,000.
